Lawyer: ‘Most likely’ Miguna has left Dubai

Deported Lawyer Miguna Miguna is reported to have left Dubai for Toronto, Canada, on Sunday night.

Lawyer Cliff Ombeta told Citizen Digital that Miguna had been unreachable since last evening at 11pm, hence, he had “most likely” left the Dubai International Airport where he was holed up for four days.

Mr. Ombeta, who is one of Miguna’s lawyers, says they are trying to get in touch with Miguna.

Miguna was deported to Dubai on the night of Wednesday, March 28 after more than 48 hours of detention at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.

He remained stranded at the Dubai International Airport as he insisted he would only board a Nairobi-bound flight.

Last evening at around 7pm, the self-declared NRM general sent out a statement saying a senior government official in Dubai, Sheikh Khalid, had taken him “to go get proper medical tests and treatment.”

Miguna maintains that he fell sick after security officers at JKIA assaulted and drugged him before putting him on a Dubai-bound flight.
