Leaders Remember Kamotho At Requiem Mass

The veteran politician and former powerful cabinet secretary will be buried tomorrow, Wednesday in his Njumbi farm in Mathioya, Murang’a County.

Kamotho passed away last Saturday after suffering a cardiac arrest at Milpark hospital in Johannesburg South Africa where he had undergone a hip surgery.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is among the guests expected at the requiem mass.

Kamotho was born in 1942 and joined Muthangari primary School in Murang’a in 1948, sat the Common Entrance Examination in 1952 before joining Njumbi Intermediate School in 1955.

Kamotho held many Cabinet portfolios including Education, Trade, and Environment and Natural Resources.

Kamotho was also a former Member of Parliament for Mathioya Constituency and Kangema Constituency during former President Moi's reign.

The politician was first elected to Parliament in 1974 where he served until 1983.

Kamotho has left behind his wife and four children.
