Leadership row emerges in new Jubilee Party

Trouble is looming among Jubilee affiliate parties with the recently dissolved New Ford Kenya accusing their counterparts URP and TNA of sidelining their party.

Saboti Member of Parliament David Lazaro lamented that some leaders have claimed ownership of the Jubilee Party; sidelining the smaller affiliate parties, a matter he said could hinder the planned merger.

The jubilee Party is expected to be unveiled by September and with the clock ticking towards the planned September launch, differences have emerged.

“Some people have hijacked JAP and now claim ownership but let them know that we are equal partners in the alliance,” he said.

According to the lawmaker, New Ford Kenya should be treated as an equal partner in the merger process.

“I’m telling those who think that NFK is a minor partner in JAP that we are the major stakeholders and we will pursue our share in its leadership,” he added.

The merger process got clearance yesterday (Friday) with the submission of key documents to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto by the interim committee.
