Leave NASA and move on, Wetangula now tells Raila

Bungoma Senator and FORD-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has asked opposition leader Raila Odinga to leave the National Super Alliance Coalition and form another political alliance.

Through his Twitter account, Wetangula on Wednesday took a dig at the former prime minister, saying he (Odinga) has a history of changing parties prior to every election, hence he should move on.

Wetangula suggested that Odinga could as well be the leader of the outlawed National Resistance Movement (NRM) and leave the coalition to the other three NASA co-principals; himself, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi of the Amani National Congress.

Omwami Raila, leave NASA to Stevo, MDVD & Weta [Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula]. You made your choices and moved on to NRM, as you never face the next election with same party,” said Wetangula.

The senator took to Twitter hours after Mr. Odinga, through his spokesman Dennis Onyango, asked him to carry his own cross and stop blaming others for his ouster as Senate Minority leader.

The FORD-Kenya boss, however, accused Mr. Odinga of using his surrogates to send out messages that malign him.

“Raila’s disjointed proxy responses and attempts to malign me explain the internal turmoil of a conflicted, disintegrating “organisation”, tweeted Wetangula.

In strongly-worded statement, Odinga’s spokesman on Tuesday dismissed claims by Wetangula that the former prime minister engineered the Senators removal from the Senate Minority leadership.

“We find Wetangula’s sentiments to be dishonest, frivolous and evasive. They are meant only to whip up emotions and sympathy over problems of the Senator’s own making,” said Onyango.
Wetangula in an interview with a local daily was reported saying that Mr Odinga mobilised ODM allied senators for a meeting during which the finer details of his removal were discussed and the final go-ahead given.

Odinga’s spokesman denied the claims saying the opposition leader tried to save the Bungoma Senator from being ejected from the influential senate seat.
