Limousine hired for Ksh.200K crashes while transporting bride to wedding reception

A flashy limousine hired to transport a bride to her wedding reception was involved in a road accident on the Mwea-Embu road on Saturday, thereby delaying the ceremony for hours.

According to sources who spoke to Citizen Digital, the couple – Lee Njiru and Maureen Wangithi – had hired the limousine for a whopping Ksh.200,000 for the day.

The bride and her party were lounging in the back of the limousine headed to Kiamutugu in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County, where the wedding reception was supposed to be held when another vehicle being driven by a 65-year-old woman hit them on the side.

The driver of the limousine, witnesses said, attempted to avoid what could have been a terrible crash and drove off the road only to crash and wreck the swanky car in the process.

Although nobody was physically hurt during the acccident, the bridal party lamented the idea of having to arrive at the wedding reception in a less dramatic flair than they initially expected.

“We hired the limousine at Ksh.200,000 to transport the bride but right now she will be transported to the Christians Worship International Ministry in another vehicle, it is a big loss,” said the transport manager.

Locals who had lined up at the venue of the reception awaiting the arrival of the flashy vehicle were visibly disappointed as the bridal party arrived in another vehicle.

The limousine has since been towed to the Wang’uru Police Station.
