Police officers accused of robbing Chinese Sh2.7m detained

Seven police officers accused of robbing a Chinese Sh2.7m have been remanded for two days to allow police conclude probe.

The police officers based at different stations in Limuru, Lari and Kikuyu were on Monday arraigned in Limuru accused of violently robbing Wuwei Dun of Sh2.7m, mobile phone, passport and car keys on Friday

The officers, namely: Simon Mwandiki, Kennedy Kobia, Maurice Odhiambo, Isaiah Kimani, Eunice Wanjiru, Janet Cheptoo and Ezra Bett have been remanded for two days for police to conclude investigations.

The seven were arrested on Sunday in Limuru along the Nairobi Nakuru highway after they attacked and stole the money from Mr. Dun as he drove from Nairobi to Bomet,his driver was also arrested after he was linked to the incident. Police investigations show he conspired with the police officers by leaking the information to them.

Mr Dun runs also runs a gambling business in Nairobi and Bomet counties.
