Linturi Insists Waiguru Motion Still On

This is after the mover of the motion Mithika Linturi maintained today that he will not withdraw the motion.

Linturi made the revelations this morning after a breakfast meeting with some Members of Parliament who have appended their signatures on the impeachment motion against Waiguru.

"The motion to impeach Waiguru will come before Parliament on Tuesday next week" said Linturi after the meeting

Linturi who footed the breakfast bills for the MPs said "the motion now belongs to the signatories of the motion and not just me"

Waiguru is accused of gross violation of laws and improprieties in the manner she removed Kiplimo Rugut from the National Youth Service as well as Gor Semelang’o from the Youth Enterprise Fund.

Despite the strong lobby from Jubilee leadership to convince Linturi to withdraw the motion, Linturi has insisted that it has to go to the floor of the House where members can decide on its fate.

He has also maintained that he cannot withdraw the motion without consulting the 200 MPs who signed it.
