Lobby group in Music, Sports peace caravan ahead of August polls

With less than 100 days before the country goes to the election, different organizations, political parties and aspirants have joined hands to promote peaceful coexistence among Kenyans from different communities before, during and after the August 8 polls.

According to Denis Wendo, the programmed coordinator at the Integrated Development Network, peace is the development and growth catalyst that must be upheld by all Kenyans.

Speaking during a soccer match between Nairobi’s Babadogo estate residents and a combined team of artistes and police officers held at the Babadogo Grounds on Sunday, April 30, Mr Wendo noted that sports and music are some of the simplest avenues that can be employed in the promotion of peace.

After the match, the event was crowned by a peace and music caravan led by renown art, Wyre, who entertained the communities and those in attendance.

Mr Wendo noted that the organization will hold more peace caravans across the country to sensitize Kenyans on the importance of peace in the run up to the August 8, 2017 General Election.
