Long Jail Sentences For Rapists

One of the convicts, Abdub Galicha will serve the rest of his life in prison after he raped a 10 year old girl in Wajir

Mahat Mohamed Ollow will serve a jail term of 50 years after he was found guilty of raping a 15 year old girl

The third convict, Omar Abdi Farah was jailed for 2o years for raping a 14 year old girl

The last convict Ahmed Birick Hussein will serve a jail term of 10 years after he was found guilty of molesting his age mate in kalkacha area of Wajir County

The stiffer penalties for the offenders were read by Justice Linus Kassan.

The Wajir court was packed to capacity as the judge sentenced the three

Judge Linus Kassan said that rape cases will only end if people reported the culprits.

Meanwhile, 34 Ethiopians who were arrested on Thursday, 30th January 2014 trying to enter Kenya without valid documents are being held in a Wajir prison.

The suspects will have to pay a fine of Ksh 20,000 or be jailed for 6 months for entering the country illegally.
