Long queues at Kasarani Stadium ahead of Kenya vs Ethiopia match
Long queues have formed at Kasarani Stadium with little over three hours left to the much anticipated African Cup of Nations qualifier match between Kenya’s Harambee Stars and Ethiopia.
The match, which is scheduled to begin at 4pm, has drawn public interest with Kenyan fans coming out in their large numbers to support the Victor Wanyama-led team.
The 60,000 seater stadium is expected to be full by kick off, with an additional screen set to be placed outside the stadium for fans who will be unable to gain entry.
Kenyan leaders, among them Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho, donated buses to ferry fans to the stadium for free while Deputy President William Ruto promised the team Ksh.50 million cash prize if they defeat Ethiopia.
Wow. It is more than 3 hours before the 4PM kickoff of #KenyaVsEthiopia match in the #AFCON2019Q and Kasarani Stadium is fully packed. The patriotism and the passion for Kenya is there. What is lacking is good management of Kenya sports affairs. pic.twitter.com/HdGvA1aT1l
