Luo elders want NASA allowed to guard polls
The Luo Council of Elders now want the Opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) allowed to use all available legal means to guard their vote in the coming election.
Led by the Luo Council of Elders National Coordinator, Adera Osawa, the elders said most of the irregularities reported in the just nullified election will only be averted if NASA and any other political party participating in the election are given opportunity to protect their votes.
Mr. Adera said they would not want to see the presidential election go back to the Supreme Court because of issues which can be avoided at early stages.
The elders also want the Wafula Chebukati-led commission disbanded saying that it is not fit to conduct any election.
Mr. Adera said the call for the office of the public prosecution to probe IEBC officer by the IEBC chairman is an indication that the commission has admitted their mistake and therefore not fit to conduct another election.
He said the commission should be reconstituted and new commissioner taking the office for the sake of trust.
