“I feel like my career rose very fast. I came from nowhere to having an Oscar in my first film. It was scary and it was exciting. Where do you go from there? There is a lot of hard work involved. I have to keep working and shape my career,” said Lupita.

“There is a lot of pressure from a lot of people, but the first duty is to myself.”

“There are a lot of talented people in the country and they need a support system. I had very supportive parents. My mom went out of her way to find us opportunities. We all have a role to play in supporting the local scene,” she added.

Speaking at the Villa Rosa Kempinski where she was talking about wildlife conservancy, Lupita asked Kenyans to support local artists by joining the war against piracy.

The actress will be the chief guest at an exclusive conservation function which will be held on Thursday, July 2nd at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi.

The function is aimed at raising support for elephants as the endangered animals are increasingly being targeted for their ivory.

The evening function will be part of Lupita’s long awaited homecoming tour, which will see her involved in activities that aim to uplift the Kenyan arts community as well as raise awareness on conservancy efforts in the country.

Those who attend the dinner are expected to pay Ksh 10, 000 per person or Ksh 100,000 for a table.
