Maalim Ready To Defend His Statement If Prosecuted

The ATPU summoned Maalim to record a statement over his remarks on the ongoing security swoops.

The ATPU claim that Maalim allegedly criticized the ongoing police crackdown that has been on going and also linking terror activities to the State.

Maalim said that the ATPU claim that he appeared on Citizen TV’s morning show CHECHE where he made the allegations.

Last week, Maalim told a press conference at Orange House that the anti-terror swoop in Eastleigh was a government gimmick to gain favour from the western donors.

On the show yesterday, he repeated the same saying everything that he had said sat in the public domain and warned that through mass deportation of Somalis from Kenya, the State was jeopardizing the security of Kenyans working in Somalia.

Ndubi at the ATPU station said his client is being investigated for inciting violence.

Ndubi says they have recorded a statement “choosing to say nothing”.

Addressing the press after recording the statement, Maalim stood by what he had said on the show and said he was ready to defend himself in court if he will be prosecuted for incitement.
