Machakos: 28-year-old man kills sickly mum, niece over fried eggs
Shock has engulfed Malindi village of Machakos county after a 28-year-old man slashed his sickly 70-year-old mother and niece to death.
On the Tuesday, he is said to have turned violent after his mother asked him why he had eaten her eggs, yet he brings no food home.
After the argument, he returned home armed with a panga and struck his mother down as his sister and niece fled for dear life.
He reportedly ran after them and slashed his sister on the foot before hacking his niece to death.
His sister is currently receiving treatment at the Machakos Level Five hospital.
Neighbors say that at one time he slaughtered one his mother’s goats, cooked and ate part of it and threw the remainder to the dogs.
He had also developed a penchant for slaughtering his mother’s hens and got violent when the family queried him about it.
Although the matter had been reported to the Katheke Police Station no action had been taken by the time of the cold-blooded killing.
Villagers who say they are living in fear told Citizen Digital that some kids did not report to school on Wednesday, fearing the suspect who is at large may attack them.
However, detectives handling the matter are in hot pursuit of the assailant who is said to have disappeared into the nearby bushes wielding the murder weapon.
