Machakos County Assembly disrupted by rowdy MCAs

Business at the Machakos County Assembly was disrupted after a section of MCAs protested the reinstatement of Joshua Mwonga as the Leader of Majority in the assembly just days after Ikalakala Ward MCA Isaac Muinde was elected to replace him.

The angry MCAs shouted down Speaker Bernard Mungata during the delivery of the assembly chamber speech on the controversial reinstatement.

The MCAs further accused him of colluding with the executive to reinstate Mwonga.

On his part, Muinde questioned the Speaker’s objectivity adding that he had no legal grounds to determine the issue until the 18^th of March when the court will rule on the same.

Mwonga on the other hand defended his record and welcomed his reinstatement.

This development has since brought tension even as the MCAs await the official response of the Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua.
