Machakos County Assembly Speaker Florence Mwangangi tests positive for COVID-19

Machakos County Assembly Speaker Florence Muoti Mwangangi has gone into self-quarantine after testing positive for the coronavirus.

Mrs. Mwangangi, who is also the mother of Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr Mercy Mwangangi, said she tested positive nine days ago.

According to the Machakos County Assembly Speaker, she reportedly noticed that one of her colleagues was exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 hence resolved to have all the assembly members tested; she was among two who were found to be positive.

Mrs. Mwangangi however said she has been following Ministry of Health guidelines, further adding that “coronavirus and is real and people should be careful.”

She urged those who have tested positive for the virus to “stop fearing and come out and speak and let people know more about the coronavirus.”

“Each day is different and one may face different symptoms, those who are sick should take heart and be hopeful though the journey is tough,” she stated.
