Machakos: Mystery of lovebirds found dead in their house

Residents of Mumbuni Village in Kathiani are still coming to terms with the death of a couple who were found dead in a house they had rented for only 10 days.

It is suspected that the 24-year-old man killed his 19-year-old lover before hanging himself with a mosquito net.

Witnesses say that on several accounts, the suspect had picked issues with his lover, accusing her of promiscuity.

The two, according to their landlord were constantly arguing and were last seen in public on December 22.

The landlord who sensed something was amiss went to check on their house which was locked from inside prompting him to break a window to access the house.

It was then that he discovered the bodies and raised the alarm.

Nguluni location area Chief Johnbosco Ndambuki visited the scene where he confirmed the incidence and implored young couples who have differences to seek different ways of resolving issues.

Bodies of the two were taken to Kangundo Hospital Mortuary as investigations into the puzzling deaths intensify.
