Machakos veterans to curse Kalonzo, Muthama over swearing in

A section of Mau Mau war veterans in Machakos County have threatened to bestow curses upon NASA Principal Kalonzo Musyoka and former Senator Johnston Muthama should the opposition make good their promise to swear in Raila Odinga.

The veterans have cautioned NASA against going ahead with their plans, warning that would only lead to further bloodshed.

The elders further added that they fought for Kenya’s independence and would not encourage any leader to take a war path in the name of liberating the country.

“We fought for independence of this country and now you have misled the entire community, please do not provoke our anger. Compromise with the current government otherwise we will deal with you because this government came through our struggles, not yours, you were too young,” he said.

Speaking in Mwala, the chapter chairperson Rev. Johnstone Kiiti argued that it was wrong for a section of the country’s political class to show disrespect to the ruling regime.

“For those who claim that they will swear in NASA leader Raila Odinga, you are committing suicide, because we already have a government in place” he warned.

The elders fired warnings at Kalonzo and Muthama as well as their families for what they said was as a result of misleading the Kamba community.

He warned that should the opposition act on their plans then they would be cursed and this would have an effect on the health of their families as well.

“We, the Mau Mau, have not been consulted in all this, go ahead at your own risk. Your families and relatives will be seeing a lot of punitive changes in their health. It is us who are cursing you, there is no Canaan you are going,” he said.

“We have no other government apart from that of President Kenyatta and his DP Ruto. They are the only ones we recognise,” he added.
