VIDEO:Main suspect in Lokichogio killings arrested in Kakuma Town

Police in Kakuma have arrested the main suspect in the killing of students at Lokichogio High school, Turkana County early today.

Abraham Lojore Toposa who is currently being held at Kakuma police station was arrested while allegedly attempting to flee into the Kakuma refugee camp.

The arrest comes just hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered police to pursue the killers of 7 students and a night guard at the school.

Sources say, the suspect, who had been suspended from the school and later recalled, committed the heinous act alongside several other friends.

The suspension of the lead student was normal disciplinary procedure following a fall between him and a fellow student, but upon being recalled, he gathered a group of friends and together they returned to the school and deliberately targeted victims in what is said to have been a revenge mission.

According to the Kenya Red Cross, 10 surviving students are being treated in local hospitals while 10 others with serious injuries have been referred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
