Makueni gets mobile clinic from First Lady

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta presented a fully equipped Beyond Zero Mobile Clinic to the county government of Makueni to support the county in realizing quality maternal health care for women and children.

Speaking during the event at the Makueni Modern Maternity Facility grounds that is still under construction, the First Lady lauded the initiative by Makueni County Government for realizing the importance of ensuring residents get the much needed health care.

Makueni County Executive Committee member for health Dr. Andrew Mulwa stated the county’s commitment to providing better services to the locals

Makueni county leaders welcomed the Beyond Zero Mobile Clinic adding that it will help address the rising need of maternal health care in the county.

Makueni County Senator Mutula Kilonzo said:  “We have two hospitals on the highway at Makindu and Makueni and the two areas have the highest number of road accidents but we do not have facilities.”

Makueni becomes the 30^th county to receive a mobile clinic since the inception of the Beyond Zero campaign that is being driven by the First Lady.
