Malindi doctor arrested over terror suspicion

Police in Malindi are holding a man suspected to be involved in terror activities.

The man, who is a doctor attached to Malindi General Hospital, was arrested at his Sea Breeze home Friday, October 7 morning.

According to Malindi OCPD, Matawa Muchangi, the man is suspected to be a close ally of two other doctors working at the facility and who were arrested in August this year in connection with terror related activities.

Muchangi says security has been beefed up in the area and assured residents of their safety.

The suspects are suspected to have links with the Islamic state terror group – ISIS.
