Malombe accuses Ngilu of disrupting his meetings

Kitui Governor, Dr. Julius Malombe, has criticized his opponent, Charity Ngilu, for ferrying goons from different wards to disrupt his meeting.

Dr. Malombe accused Ngilu of pulling a similar stunt during the wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka’s tour in Kitui last week.

Speaking at Nzalae in Mwingi West, Malombe told Ngilu that inciting her supporters to block him from addressing Kitui residents will not help her since voters know the kind of leaders they want.

He urged Kitui residents not to vote Ngilu claiming that her education and orientation does not suit her for the gubernatorial position.

Malombe reminded them of Ngilu’s past history drawing a reference to her sacking from the Ministry of Lands in 2015 as directed by President Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly receiving a confidential report from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) that linked her to graft.

Malombe said he has no doubt that Kitui people will re-elect him on account of tremendous development projects he has initiated in the past four years during his tenure.

Contrary to Malombe’s claims, the former lands Cabinet Secretary said she is prepared for the political battle that will see his opponent Julius Malombe sent home come August 8.

Ngilu maintained that she has a backing from Kitui residents who encouraged her to run for the gubernatorial position since Malombe had failed them.
