Man, 31, killed by brother in Ugunja

A 31-year-old man was on Tuesday night killed by his younger brother at Maroche Village in Ugunja County following a family dispute.

The deceased, Michael Omondi Oduor, is alleged to have intervened in a fight between his two sister-in-laws when his brother and the wife attacked him.

According to the village elder Mr Cornel Onyango Adala, one of the sister-in-laws called her husband with whom they colluded to beat up Michael to death.

“Michael crawled towards his home but later succumbed to his injuries at his home,” said the village elder.

Confirming the incident, area chief Mr Alfred Anyiko stated that the body was taken to Siaya Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem as investigation begin into the matter.

“The sister-in-law allegedly involved in the murder has been arrested to assist with investigations, while the police have launched a man hunt to apprehend the brother who escaped and is now at large,” the area chief said.
