Man, 46, arrested after woman finds baby naked, bleeding from private parts

A 46 year old man was arrested on Friday for defiling a one and half year old baby in Bulapesa, Isiolo.

The mother of the child had gone to a nearby shop but when she returned, she found her baby missing.

Mariam Hussein frantically searched around the house and found her baby in one of the rooms; naked and bleeding from her private parts.

The suspect, a relative who had been staying with the family for three days, was also found in the room, his genital organ still erect.

The mother then took the baby to Isiolo Police Station and reported the matter.

The baby was taken to Isiolo Referral Hospital where a medical officer confirmed that she had been defiled.

According to the Isiolo Sub County Police Commander Moses Owiti, the suspect whose name was withheld for security reasons, has since been arrested.

He is to be arraigned in court after police complete their investigations.

Owiti called on parents to be wary of who interacts with their children.
