Man, 70, arrested over involvement in circumcision of 2 granddaughters

Police in Riaranga village, Nyamira County, are holding a 70-year-old man suspected to have been involved in the circumcision of his two granddaughters.

Magombo Police boss Geoffrey Makoro told Citizen Digital the septuagenarian was arrested following tip off from members of the public.

The officers stormed the man’s homestead where the two minors – aged 7 and 8 – were found having undergone the ‘cut.’

The man and his son, the girls’ father, were hence arrested before the latter escaped with handcuffs on.

Mr. Makoro added that police are presently hunting down the escapee even as investigations continue.
