Man arrested after being captured on video hacking suspect with a panga

A man captured in a widely circulated video hacking a suspected chicken thief with a machete in Shinyalu, Kakamega County has been arrested.

The suspect, Francis Muse Liseche alias Moi/President, was nabbed on Sunday by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

In the video, the suspect was captured savagely cutting a man with a panga in public on allegations of stealing a chicken. The victim died from excessive bleeding.

Three other suspects among them the owner of the chicken have also been arrested. They include; Evans Lichoti Ashihundu (34), Agapitus Ingosi Ang’uswa (43) and  Reuben Smith Shitambasi (48).

The four suspects are expected to be arraigned on Monday.
