Man arrested for defiling 5-year-old daughter in Kirinyaga

A 35-year-old man is in police custody after he was arrested for allegedly defiling his five-year-old daughter at Njuki-Ini village in Kirinyaga County.

According to Gichugu Police Commander Anthony Mbogo, the suspect was arrested following a tip off from members of the public to the area assistant chief.

“After investigating we found out that the man was being protected by his wife,” Mbogo said.

The man was arrested on Thursday night and held at Kianyaga police station before he was arraigned at the Gichugu law courts Friday morning.

The court denied him bail pending hearing of the matter.

Meanwhile, the police commander has cautioned women against protecting husbands who defile their children.
