Man Arrested for Rearing Snakes, Tortoises Illegally

The officials also impounded the snakes and tortoises that the 50-year-old was keeping without a permit.

Among those impounded were four pythons, two speed cobras, three puff adders, two bofu slangs, two green spotted, two cradles, and 24 tortoises.

Msambweni OCPD Joseph Omijah confirmed the incident and said that the suspect, Raphael Galozi, will be arraigned in court on Monday.

He called on any person interested in venturing into the business of rearing wild animals to seek proper licenses from the Kenya Wildlife Services.
