Police in Runyenjes are holding a 27 -year- old man after he allegedly stabbed to death his 8-month-old nephew at Gatitu village in Embu County.

The suspect, Erick Njiru, is reported to have stabbed the baby with a pen knife from his pocket following an argument with his his cousin Lukas Nyaga whom he had visited.

According to Embu East OCPD Njoroge Mbugua, the suspect had confronted his cousin with allegations that he had been bewitching him and sought to find out why.

It was amid the heated argument that the suspect snatched the baby and stabbed him on the head before he was apprehended.

Investigations into the incident are currently underway and the suspect is expected to be arraigned in court soon to face murder charges.
