Man beheads wife after domestic fight in Kibera

Police are on the hunt for a man who is reported to have fled after slashing his wife to death with a machete at Kisumu Ndogo area in Kibera, Nairobi County.

According to neighbours who spoke to Citizen TV, the incident occurred at around 9:30pm on Wednesday night and in the full view of the couple’s two children, aged 13 and 8.

Neighbours say they heard commotion coming from the deceased, Jackline Nekesa’s house and only later realized that she had been attacked and beheaded by her husband of three years using a panga.

One of the neighbours, Laurine Oyomba, told Citizen TV that the deceased had once confided in her saying her husband, only identified as Fred, was threatening to kill her.

The neighbours also expressed shock at the man’s actions, terming him as a relatively quiet man who rarely got into scuffles with anybody.

The body of the deceased has since been moved to City Mortuary as investigations continue.
