Man Buried 25 Years ago Arrested with Stolen Utensils, Chicken

According to area Chief Samuel Sechero, the suspect, Kennedy Matayo, was arrested in 1990 for sodomising his 5-year-old nephew before killing and burying him.

Sechero said that the suspect was released on bond in relation to that case and was later found dead. His family reportedly buried him in Kakamega.

Matayo has, however, denied the links saying after he was released on bond he moved to Kitale and has only decided to return after life in Kitale proved tough for him.

The residents claim that according to their customs and traditions, the man should not be allowed back to the society until a cleansing ceremony has been held.
