Man bites 4-month-old sons genitals in Voi

A 23-year-old man was on Wednesday arraigned at the Voi Law Courts for allegedly assaulting his son aged four months.

The accused; Salim Mwaluma Chongo, was charged that on October 13, 2019 he bit the child on the penis, right leg and rib at his home in Mwingoni village in Voi, Taita Taveta County.

The man had reportedly been left with the child by the mother who away during the incident. It is still unclear why the man committed the act.

The child is still undergoing treatment having sustained serious injuries on his genitals.

The man denied the charges before Voi Senior Resident Magistrate Fredrick Nyakundi and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.20,000 or Ksh.50,000 bond.

The case will be mentioned on October 30 with the hearing scheduled for October 31.
