Man charged for robbing Peter Kenneth’s wife

A 53-year-old man has been charged with robbery with violence.

Simon Muthee Ritho is alleged that on August 6, 2016 at Kibagare Way in Gigiri, armed with dangerous weapons, robbed Ann Wanjiru Kenneth, the wife to 2013 presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth, a Land Rover Discovery vehicle, Samsung Note 3 phone valued at 170,000 shillings, Nakumatt smart cards and other valuables worth Ksh 6.3 million.

The prosecution also opposed bail application by the accused on grounds that he was arrested on August 8 at malaba border and, therefore, poses a flight risk.

Ann Kenneth has been listed as a witness in the matter.

Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogemba will make a ruling on his bail terms on August 26, 2016.
