Man charged with robbery with violence freed on Ksh.300K bail

A man was on Monday arraigned in a Nairobi court for allegedly attempting to steal from an M-Pesa agent.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, the suspect; Darian Omondi Ondong’o, was charged with robbery with violence.

He was accused of attempting to rob an unknown amount of money from Mary Anyango Wesonga at her M-pesa shop armed with a pistol and a knife which he allegedly used to threaten violence on her.

The accused faced a second count of being in possession of an imitated firearm.

He denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.300,000.

The case will be mentioned on August 19.
