Man charged with defiling 12-year-old daughter

A man was on Thursday arraigned before a Nakuru court and charged with defiling his 12-year-old daughter.

Appearing before Principal Magistrate Joe Omido, Peter Mbugua was accused of defiling his daughter on diverse dates between 2016 and March 29, 2018 at Munanda area in Gilgil, Nakuru County.

On an alternative charge, the 40-year-old man was also charged with indecent act by touching the minor’s private parts.

Mbugua was arrested and taken to Gilgil Police Station on Friday, March 29, following a tip-off from neighbours who alleged that he had a habit of chasing his wife out of their home and remaining with the minor to defile her.

The accused could however, not take plea as the prosecution applied to amend charges.

The court ordered that he be remanded at Nakuru Central Police until Friday, April 6  for plea taking.
