Man charged with obtaining Ksh.136K by pretending he was in hospital

A man was on Tuesday arraigned in a Nairobi court for allegedly obtaining a sum of Ksh.136,600 from a woman under false pretences.

Appearing before a Nairobi court, Rabson Anzetse was alleged to have obtained the amount from Ann Natian Kashimri by pretending that he was involved in a serious road accident and was admitted at a Kisumu hospital.

The man also faced additional charges of impersonating an officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on diverse dates between May 30 and June 7, 2019 jointly with others not before court.

Mr. Anzetse, who was arrested on Monday, pleaded not guilty to the charges before Principal Magistrate M. Nanzushi and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.400, 000.

The case was set for mentioning on July 17, 2019.
