Man commits suicide after being accused of impregnating cousin

Police in Rongo have launched investigation into the death of a 21-year-old man who committed suicide after being accused of impregnating his cousin at Minyenye village in Rongo Sub County.

Confirming the incident Rongo OCPD, Kisaka Muganda, said the body of the deceased identified as Kennedy Odhiambo Ogolla was found dangling from a rope in his house on Monday.

Mr. Kisaka said that they suspect the deceased chose to commit suicide after some members of his family accused him of having impregnated his cousin.

“It is believed that the uncle went and vandalized part of his house and seems the act angered him and opted to take his life to escape from his frustrations,” said the OCPD.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Rosewood Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy as the police probe continues.

Meanwhile, the OCPD has appealed to families to find better ways of solving such family matters to avoid such incidents.
