Man commits suicide by jumping off 4th floor balcony at Adlife Plaza

A 40-year-old man committed suicide on Monday by jumping off a balcony on the fourth floor at Adlife Plaza in Kilimani, Nairobi.

The man identified as Richard Wangai made his way into the building at around 4pm and remained at the premises until 5pm when he committed suicide.

According to police at Kilimani Police Station, CCTV footage showed the man, who hails from Mombasa, roaming around the fourth floor.

A security guard at Adlife Plaza disclosed to police that when he questioned Wangai on his mission at the building, the man allegedly claimed to be waiting for someone at the dental clinic on the 4th floor.

He remained at the same area and did not go to the fifth floor where the Casino is located as earlier reported.

The man’s mother and sister who reported at Kilimani Police Station told police that the man came to Nairobi from Mombasa recently.

It could not be immediately established why he committed suicide.

His body was moved to Montezuma mortuary as further investigations continue.
