Man defiles daughter, 12, on New Year’s Day

As millions of Kenyans were busy celebrating the New Year, a 12-year-old girl was languishing in pain after she was allegedly defiled by her father at Mithi-ini Village in Makuyu, Murang’a County.

According to the standard 5 student, she together with her other male siblings ware busy working on some domestic chores that their mother had instructed them to do when their father sent her male siblings to a nearby river to wash their clothes and take a bath, all the while insisting that she be left at home.

As soon as her brothers left, she was recalled into the house by her father who, she says, lifted her to her bed and defiled her.

She further narrated that after the ordeal, the father warned her not to tell anyone including her mother.

The girl, however, went to Kirimiri Police Station where she was sent to Makuyu District Hospital and later referred to Thika Level 5 Hospital.

Speaking at Thika Level 5 Hospital on Saturday, the girl’s mother said she received a call from Kirimiri Police Station and rushed there immediately.

Njambi, a mother of two girls and five boys, disclosed that her other daughter has been living with her grandmother after she reported a similar incident two years ago that went ignored.

The family now wants justice to prevail and the man to face the full force of the law.
