Man denies defiling daughter, infecting her with HIV

A 60-year-old man has denied defiling his 10-year-old daughter and deliberately infecting her with HIV/AIDs.

Benedictus Alambo Anzaya told Narok Senior Magistrate Allan Sitati that he has had erectile dysfunction for last five years thus there is no way he could have committed the alleged offense.

Anzaya further said that her daughter was born HIV positive and wondered why the children’s office alleged that he infected the girl with the deadly virus.

The accused is alleged to have committed the offence between October 2014 and February 2015 at his Majengo home in Narok Town.

His defense comes after four witnesses gave their testimonies on the matter.

The witnesses told the court that the accused threatened the girl and commanded her not to tell anyone of the offence.

According to court reports, the girl had been living with his father and younger brother following the death of his wife five years ago.

The girl is said to have reported the matter to her teacher at Fountain Academy located in the outskirts of Narok town leading to arrest of the accused.

The old man has been charged with defilement alongside indecent act of touching a minor’s private parts, incest and deliberate transmission of HIV/AIDS.

Anzaya had been given a bond of Ksh500, 000 or one surety of the same amount that he was unable to raise.

He will remain in custody awaiting judgment on Friday May 6, 2016.
