Man Dies After Consuming Alcohol in Githurai

The two are reported to have consumed the liquor at Jubilee wines and spirits on Monday evening.

 

The man who lost his sight is alleged to have taken a bottle of napoleon brand and instantly lost his eyesight.

 

Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo who visited the family condemned the sale of cheap liqour in the area saying those behind the sale should be arrested and charged.

 

The man who lost his sight currently seeking medical attention in Kiambu County.

 

This comes after the government cancelled all licences of the manufacturers, distributors and sellers of second generation brews in May 2014.

 

NACADA Chairman John Mututho said that this was in a bid to help in the fight against illicit brews.

 

The government took this step after over 94 people died in May 2014 after consumption of adulterated spirits.
