Man, expectant wife brutally murdered in Kakamega

Police in Kakamega County are investigating the brutal murder of a man and his expectant wife who were killed on Thursday morning at their home in Panyako village, Matungu Constituency.

The deceased were attacked by unknown assailants who raided their home at around 2am, raped the four-month pregnant woman in turns before hacking her to death.

Her body was found lying in a pool of blood in the living room of their house.

It was not immediately clear whether the husband was killed at their home as his mutilated body was found dumped near a river situated a few metres away from his house with his hands tied.

The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Kakamega County Hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.

According to the area OCPD, preliminary investigations indicate that the man was a known criminal in the area and is thought to have been killed in a revenge mission.
