Man gets life imprisonment for defiling a 7-year-old girl

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Nairobi Court after he was found guilty of defiling a 7-year-old girl.

Daniel Mwizi was found guilty of defiling the girl in April 2015 in Huruma Estate, Nairobi.

In her ruling, Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Charity Oluoch said that prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Mwizi committed the heinous act on the minor.

The court was told that the accused was a boyfriend to the minor’s mother.

The accused was not apologetic when asked if he had any mitigation before sentencing.

The court indicated that rape charges have only one sentence and that is life imprisonment.
