Man hacks wife to death, escapes

Police at Kimana area in Kajiado County have launched a manhunt for a man alleged to have hacked his wife to death with a machete early this morning.

According to area Chief Joseph Lalaito, Kamau Chege and his wife had been involved in domestic rows for the last three months before the incident.

Lalaito also believes that the man could have swallowed poison before fleeing from his marital home, as an empty bottle of poison was found in their bedroom.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Oloitoktok Hospital Mortuary.

This comes barely two months after a disabled man was killed by his wife while two other men had their genitals chopped off by their wives in Nyeri County in a span of two weeks due to apparent domestic violence
