Man in court for stealing miraa

A man was on Monday arraigned in a Meru court and charged with stealing half kilogram of Miraa valued at Ksh 500.

Martin Kimathi  appeared before Meru Principal Magistrate Joseph Karanja and denied the charges of stealing Miraa twigs from Mohammed Yusuf on Sunday.

Kimathi in his defence told the court that he had been sent by the complainant to his farm when he plucked the Miraa twigs.

The Magistrate freed him on Ksh 1,000 cash bail.

The case will be heard on the 7th of January 2016.
