Man in court over illegal construction

A man from Juja’s Murera area has been charged in a Thika Court for constructing a six-storey building without the approval of the County Government of Kiambu.

This was after the neighbors complained about the manner in which the building was being constructed. They allege that the house was constructed without a proper foundation.

The building had started developing cracks forcing the 18 tenants who had occupied it to vacate.

For fear of their lives, the neighbours also vacated saying that the building had already started sinking and would eventually collapse on them.

The case will be heard on May 11th this year.
