Man in hospital after wife attacks him with hammer as he slept
Police in Nyandarua are hunting for a woman who physically assaulted and injured her husband with a hammer as he slept.
Peter Ngugi, 26, says that his wife attacked him with a hammer as he slept and fled and her whereabouts are unknown.
The father of one claims that his wife hammered him on his head which caused him to lose consciousness. On waking up, neighbours helped rush him to hospital.
He also reported the matter to the police where he was given a P3 form and the police promised to look for the assailant.
On getting home, Ngugi found his house had been swept clean and he suspects it was the wife.
The victim, who is currently recuperating at a rescue center for battered men in Kiambu, is pleading with the police to speed up their investigations and arrest his attacker.
The officer in charge of the rescue center, James Njenga accused the police of not taking male domestic violence victims seriously.
