Man jumps into Indian Ocean from MV Harambee Ferry

Police in Mombasa are investigating circumstances under which a middle aged man jumped off a ferry, plunging into the Indian Ocean on Saturday night in a suspected suicide case.

According to the witnesses, the man, who is yet to be identified, was dressed in a vest and black short, and he threw himself into the ocean by running through the back end of MV Harambee Ferry.

The incident is said to have occurred at around midnight when the man and other travelers were heading from South Coast.

Witnesses further claimed that the man appeared disturbed before throwing himself into the ocean.

The incident is reportedly the second to happen after another man believed to have been mentally ill threw himself in the Ocean from MV Jambo ferry a fortnight ago.
