Man jumps into swollen river after quarrel with sister
Residents of Rera sub-location in Siaya County are yet to come to terms with the death of a 25-year-old man who drowned after jumping into River Yala Tuesday evening.
The deceased, identified as Ouma Nyunja, is said to have had a domestic quarrel with his sister in-law, something the family suspects could be the reason behind his action.
South West Gem Chief, Paul Nyajure, said the deceased went to his house and picked a bottle of pesticide and consumed before heading to the swollen river where he jumped and drowned.
Nyajure has cautioned members of the public against taking such actions and urged them to always ensure they find amicable solutions to problems other than taking away their lives.
The search for the deceased’s body is underway as police launch investigations into the matter.
