Man killed after wall collapses on him

One person died and three cars destroyed after a perimeter wall collapsed on them Wednesday evening in Murang’a County after a heavy down pour.

The deceased, identified as Peter Katungo, was killed after the wall of a business premise he was guarding collapsed on his security house.

The building owner, Harun Muiruri, said the wall was weakened by the heavy rains that were accompanied by storms.

He, however, blamed the whole incident on poor drainage in the area saying that the County Government has failed to unclog the system leading to frequent floods.

The body of the deceased was retrieved by the residents and a team of rescuers from the County Government and removed to Murang’a Hospital mortuary.
